Purpose of Quran Day

To introduce appreciation of the Holy Quran and familiarise the children with the many facets of this holy book, a living miracle of our time. This great revelation has many depths and mysteries that have yet to be discovered. Those who frequently read the Holy Qur'an can attest to the fact that it is an unending source of information and a bottomless well of fresh knowledge and guidance.

Project

Students are divided into groups of 5-6 students with the assigned topic to work upon together in their groups to create a fun project (on the card provided) on the topic using the references below. It could be 2D, 3D or just on the card (or powerpoint presentation for higher classes). As part of the project students are requested to search for at least one Hadith relevant to the topic from a Shia Source. The ready project should be brought in to Madressa on Sunday 25th April 2010. This day is dedicated to the Book of Allah (swt) The Holy Quran and we call this day "Quran Day."

A teacher allocated to the group will coordinate the project and will work with the students on a weekly basis to complete the project. We will provide students sometime during each week in Madressa to work on this project; however, we expect the majority of the work should be completed at home.

Seas

Surah Luqman (31) Verse 27

Surah Yunus (10) Verse 22

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Seas, you are looking at the way that ships sail on the vast expanses of the sea, which is so mighty in its creation. They are but mere specks on the magnitude of the sea, and this is reflected to us by showing us that we are so small compared to the rest of the universe, yet we don’t realise this. The seas may be in great size, but the sovereignty of Allah (s.w.t) is so immense that it can’t be described using all the water of the seas as ink.

For the Sun and the Moon, you would see the amazing strength of the Sun that it is so powerful in its purpose to shed light and warmth on the earth, that if the Sun was moved even a few millimetres, the balance of the universe would be thrown. Its light is reflected onto the Moon, so that in the darkness of the night, the Moon is a welcoming light.

Earth

Surah Hijr (15) Verse 19

Surah Fussilat (41) Verse 9

Surah A’raf (7) Verse 128

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For the Earth, you would see the way in which Allah (s.w.t) created the earth in 4 days, and how its several stages and components were brought into existence. This shows the power of Allah (s.w.t), who created a universe for mankind, for His creation to live on, and use. Human beings are guardians of this earth, which is our temporary abode until we leave this world into the hereafter.

Skies

Surah Ha meem Sajda (41) Verse 12

Surah Baqarah (2) Verse 22 & 29

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For the Skies, you would see the way in which Allah (s.w.t) created the skies over a period of time known only to Him. He also refers to the skies as a canopy over the earth and His creation, and sends down rain onto the plains of this earth. This is a part of the water cycle, a scientific discovery made only recently, yet the Qur’an, a book sent down as a proof so many years ago, has described it in such a clear way.

Bees

Surah Nahl (16) Verse 68 – 69

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Bees, you would see the intricate workings of the beehive and the way each worker-bee plays a small part alongside its fellow bees to make honey. This is similar to communities today, and the way that everyone works together to live an Islamic and fulfilling way of life.

Ants

Surah Naml (27) Verse 18 – 19

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Ants, you would study the incident of Prophet Sulayman (a.s) and with his supernatural understanding of the language of the ants and all other creations, showed that each and every creation of Allah (s.w.t) is important and has been given the intellect to live contentedly and carry out their purpose of creation on this earth.

Birds

Surah An’aam (6) Verse 38

Surah Saba (34) Verse 10

Surah Mulk (67) Verse 19

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Birds, you would see the way the Allah (s.w.t) has created them so that they fly overhead with no support, a miracle. They take care of their young so carefully, and spread their wings of mercy. This shows us that Allah (s.w.t) has created every creature perfectly so that they can adapt to live on this Earth. We, as human beings, have used the concept of wings to begin a discovery of aeronautics, how planes fly. Without this guidance from Allah (s.w.t), we wouldn’t have been able to create this technological advance. Also, refer to the event in which Prophet Dawood (a.s) would worship Allah (s.w.t) in his melodious voice, and the birds would be compelled to sing along.

Mountains

Surah Anbiya (21) Verse 31

Surah Hashr (59) Verse 21

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

http://www.creationofuniverse.com/html/science_08.html

For Mountains, you would come across a verse in the Quran that shows their greatness and how they are so firmly rooted to the ground. And although they are so mighty in their size, yet so humble in the worship of Allah (s.w.t). Allah (s.w.t)’s might and grace is such that on the Day of Judgement, even the mountains will be scattered. Such great creations are so humble in front of Allah (s.w.t), that human beings, should have the same humility in the eyes of Allah (s.w.t). Fact: More than half of the world’s fresh water originates in mountains, and all the world's major rivers are fed from mountain sources. More facts can be found in Harun Yahya’s work.

Heaven & Hell

Surah Baqarah (2) Verse 206

Surah Nisa (4) Verse 56

Surah Hijr (15) Verse 44

Surah Ale Imran (3) Verse 133, 198

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Heaven and Hell, you would be studying the ultimate destination of the soul. Heaven is a place for the believers, the ones who have done good in this world, and in Qur’an, has been described with beautiful scenery, rivers flowing and contentment. It is the goal for all of us. Hell is the place for the disbelievers, those who disregarded the will of Allah (s.w.t). There are various levels of Hell, ranging from the mild punishment to punishment with unimaginable pain. It has been described in the Qur’an – use Quranic references. Our aim in life is to obey Allah (s.w.t) and enter Heaven, and avoid Hell.

Surah Ash-Shura (42) Verse 5

For Angels, you would see the way that they obey Allah (s.w.t)’s command without a complaint or question. Allah (s.w.t) has created so many angels and assigned a task for each of them, and all of them having been worshipping Him since the beginning of time and will continue to do so until the Day of Judgement. Angels are so unwavering in their faith and obedience to Allah (s.w.t), and Inshallah, we will be able to reach a stage where we can do the same, as the servants of Allah (s.w.t).

Shaytan

Surah Nisa (4) Verse 38

Surah Hashr (59) Verse 16

Surah Yasin (36) Verse 60

Work piece of Harun Yahya from www.harunyahya.com

For Shaytan, you would see the way that he was banished from Heaven when his pride caused him to refuse Allah (s.w.t)’s command to worship Prophet Adam (a.s). Allah (s.w.t) refers to Shaytan in the Qur’an by warning the believers that he is an open enemy and the followers of Shaytan have no return to the mercy of Allah (s.w.t). Shaytan was given the permission to attack a human, from all 4 sides, but only Allah (s.w.t) showers mercy and blessings from above. We have been taught to stay away from the evil whisperings of Shaytan.
