Purpose of Quran Day:

To introduce appreciation of the Holy Quran and familiarise the children with the many facets of this Holy Book, a living miracle of our time. This great revelation has many depths and mysteries that have yet to be discovered. Those who frequently read the Holy Qur'an can attest to the fact that it is an unending source of information and a bottomless well of fresh knowledge and guidance.

Projects:

Students were divided into groups of 5-6 students with a topic assigned to them to work together in their groups to create a fun project in 2D, 3D, PowerPoint, etc. The topics given to the students ranged from Rivers, Seas, Fruits, Sun & Moon, Day & Night, Earth, Skies, Heaven and Hell, Angels, Shaytan and Animals and Insects. A teacher was allocated to the group to coordinate the project and worked with the students on a weekly basis to complete the project. The Day itself...what happened:

All the groups presented their projects in their classrooms to their fellow students and teachers. On the completion of these presentations, each class nominated the best project. These short listed presentations were then presented to a panel of three independent/external judges separately in the boys and the girls. The judges had a tough time selecting three presentations from those short listed. After an hour of reviewing these presentations they finally made their selection...the finalé on the day was an assembly. The final three groups showcased their work to the rest of the madressa. The quality of work produced by the children was awesome.  This was concluded with salaat.
