An activity to go with a lesson on Ayatul Kursi: "Allah is the guardian of those who believe.  He brings them out of the darkness into the light. Those who cover up the truth, their guardians are Shaitan who takes them out of the light into the darkness."

You Will Need:

  • Template of girl and boy (downloadable here)
  • Template of ayah (downloadable here
  • 2 A4 pieces of card
  • Black & yellow crepe paper (cut into squares)
  • Colours
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To Make:

1.  Print off the ayah template and cut out.

2.  Stick the two ayats at the top of the page, one on the left and one on the right as per the photo below.

3.  On the right hand side below the ayat on going from light into darkness, stick the black squares of crepe paper.

4.  On the left hand side below the ayat on going from darkness into light, stick the yellow squares of crepe paper. This is to represent light & dark.

5.  1.5 cm from the bottom of the card, make a 7cm vertical cut on both sides of the card (the light & dark sides) approx 8cm apart.

6.  Print off the girl and boy template and cut off. Colour and stick on to some card.
7. Insert the template of the children through the cuts, and this is to represent the above ayat.  "Allah is the guardian of those who believe. He brings them out of the darkness into the light".
8. The children can be moved from light to darkness, or darkness to light.
