How to make an Alam

You Will Need:

fabric (gold)

plant stick

red ribbon

gold wrapping paper/ card

sticky tape

circular piece of perforated cardboard (7cm)

elastic

scissors

needle & thread

How To Make:

1. Cut out some gold fabric (about 40cm x 25cm) and stitch the two sides together.

2. Fold the edge of the top fabric with the elastic inside and do a running stitch. Then stitch the ends together.

3. Make a hole in the middle of the circular piece of perforated cardboard, and insert this into the fabric and push towards the top of the alam.

4. Insert the plant stick through the hole.

5. Tie the middle of the alam with a small piece of red ribbon.

6. Draw around your hand on a piece of gold wrapping paper and cut it out.

7. Stick this to the top of the plant stick with sticky tape.
