Madressa Vision

“To impart to our students, knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Islam, in order that they may take a valuable place in society as responsible youth, focused teams, and committed parents”

Mission Statement

“Shia Ithna’asheri Madressa aims to provide its students a foundation in Qur’an, Islamic Law (Fiqh), Islamic History (Tareekh), and Islamic Conduct (Akhlaq). Shia Ithna’asheri Madressa’s focus is not only on the teaching of Islam, but also in its practice and in its understanding.”

About Us

We would like to welcome you to the Shia Ithna'asheri Madressa, set up by the London Jamaat to meet the needs of the children of the community. The Madressa opened on 13th January 1985 with five classes and 60 students - 22 years on, it has around 750 registered students, in over 25 Classes, with a team of 130 people, divided into administration team, teachers, and volunteers.

The Madressa runs every Sunday from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm at Huseini Shia Islamic Centre in Stanmore. Our aim is to equip our students with a core course in Islamic Studies - covering the subjects which a youngster in today's society and environment should be aware of. The main topics covered are in the categories of Islamic History, Islamic Law, Morals & Ethics, and Understanding the Knowledge contained in the Holy Qur'an. The Madressa day ends with Salatul Jama'at between 1.00 pm and 1.30 pm.

ImageThe Syllabus and notes, are used in over 50 different organisations world wide, from American to Australia, as well as in a number of Madressas in the U.K. They have received much acclaim and are officially endorsed by the Islamic Education Board of the World Federation (IEB).
